I specialize in hand etched portraits, and laser etchings on black granite. I have been etching for monument companies in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan, and the Toledo area for about fifteen years. I also have an 18 x 24 inch laser system that can laser photographs, images and text on many surfaces including granite, acrylic, wood, crystal, glass and more. The laser is also able to cut through many materials some include acrylic, wood, paper (like for scrap booking projects), and stencil materials. The laser system has a rotary tool, it can be used for round items like glasses, vases, cemetery vases, and other items as well. I also do many other types of work like pencil drawings, glass engraving and sandblasting, laser cut jewelry and laser on wood plaques. Granite tiles can be etched by hand or done by laser, the tiles can be shipped anywhere. The tiles could then be used as an inlay into a monument or memorial of any color or size allowing for an endless number of possibilities. Etched tiles can be designed as award plaques, dedication plaques, and memory collages. They can also be framed to be displayed on a wall or even set on an easel for showing it off.
Besides granite laser and hand etchings, you could choose to have something made from acrylic. It is clear and resembles sandblasted glass. Photos and text can be etched onto it making unique gifts like awards, or a gift for a teacher by putting photos of the students along with their signatures, or a photo frame that has selected words around it and looks as if the photo is floating in the middle. Items can be made with acrylic like key chains with logos or names on them for promotional purposes. Also I can make an item with a picture of your church and its name engraved on it, which can be used as a fund raiser for the church. Also check out the Family Flakes on the acrylic page, I make a different snowflake for each family member, with their photo in the middle, or even put someone on a larger one and they can be the biggest flake in the family. I also work with glass and mirror. Smaller designs can be created for the laser, while larger designs can be prepared by hand and sandblasted, or even combined to utilize both. Glass makes beautiful home decor, and can be displayed in many ways.
I have been working with pencil for many years. I think this is where I started with art. I attended classes at The Toledo Museum Of Art from second grade. I won the art classes for a drawing I did in class, and I have not stopped yet. I can make a family group picture using separate photos you have. I can also incorporate color into your drawing as well. If you don't want a portrait I could draw a pet or your favorite subject.
The laser cut, hand painted acrylic jewelry with Swarovski Crystals is just so much fun. It can also be created with portraits, pets, or even promotional designs such as logos and names on them.
